Back Traction For Spine And Neck Treatment

By Laura Gallagher

A chiropractor is a professional who has specialized in back and neck oriented complications. Back traction is a curative method used to treat back complications. It is administered by the spine specialist that is, the chiropractor.

When the procedure is undertaken, there are a number of noticeable differences. Some of them are that the bones making the particular joint slide better, blood in the joint moves circulates better and pressure impressed on the backbone is reduced drastically. All these eventually make the person move easily as the nervous system is more efficient.

Spinal stenosis is a form of spine complication where the bones and muscles around them are inflamed because of the impressed pressure. This makes the body exude certain toxins that deposit around the nervous system. When traction is applied, they are extracted from the body thus making movement easier for the patient.

Due to the tension involved for the patient, the doctor may opt to do the exercise for approximately ten minutes. However, in some cases, it may take much longer, provided the doctor ensures not to apply too much pressure on the patient. The amount of pressure applied on the back also determines greatly the rate of recovery.

Traction is highly recommended for people with complications on the upper spine region. Placebo on the other hand is advised for those whose complications are in the lower spine region of the body. However, there is not much distinction between the two. Additionally, they are all the same complementary of normal medicine in spinal and neck treatment.

back traction is not viewed as an individual means of treatment, rather as complement of other solutions to back complications. It is highly effective at reducing pains for patients while the drugs prescribed take effect in the body. However, this does not dispense off its imminence in modern day medicine.
